The whole
MEP spectrum,
under one studio.
[Directors to rewrite naturally. Six disciplines, delivered cohesively, without the coordination losses of a multi-firm split.]
Mechanical Design
HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation — calibrated to the building's actual use, not a worst-case spec. CIBSE-compliant calculations, modelled in Revit, signed by a director.
Electrical Design
From LV distribution to lighting design and emergency systems. Future-proofed for EV, PV and the tenant demands that always arrive after handover.
Public Health
Above-ground drainage, water services, rainwater harvesting. The systems that decide whether a building works in year ten, not year one.
Sustainability & Decarbonisation
Energy modelling, Part L compliance, BREEAM strategy, and a realistic route to net zero. Designed to pass — more importantly, designed to perform.
Maintenance Consultancy
Long-running consultancy on operational M&E estates. Maintenance contract specification, tender, PPM oversight, condition surveys, lifecycle planning — the quiet end of the work that gets buildings through year ten in better shape than year one.
Utility Consultancy
DNO / water / gas liaison. Capacity studies, connection management, diversion strategy. The quiet hours that prevent expensive surprises at Stage 4.
Building Safety Act
& Higher-Risk
Buildings.
The Building Safety Act is new to the industry. Most consultancies are still working out what compliance looks like in practice. We have multiple projects in BSR review or with Gateway 2 approval — and the working knowledge that comes from having done it.
[Directors to rewrite naturally. Prana has MEP design experience on a number of HRB-classified projects — both existing buildings being recategorised under the new regime, and new-build schemes advancing through the Gateway process.]
[Continuation — for clients with HRB stock or HRB new-builds, the practical implication is straightforward: you're not paying us to learn the BSA on your project. We've already done that on Trencherfield Mill, Lissadel Street, and others.]
Trencherfield Mill
A heritage-listed mixed-use HRB in continuous occupation. Emergency lighting, generator, switchgear and smoke ventilation systems redesigned, specified and replaced — without disrupting residential or commercial tenants.
Lissadel Street
364-apartment PBSA scheme on a constrained site adjacent to a waste recycling centre. MEP design issued to Stage 4. Currently advancing through BSA Gateway 2 with Bridgestone Construction.
Where we
work most.
Residential, build-to-rent, purpose-built student accommodation, healthcare, mixed-use, and public-sector maintenance frameworks.
[Directors to rewrite naturally. The shape of our portfolio reflects deliberate choices. We do the work we know we can deliver well — and decline the work where we'd be learning on the client's time.]
