/ Brief

A community
building, twice.

[Directors to rewrite naturally. Didsbury Point pairs affordable homes with a new ground-floor NHS medical centre on the former Withington Community Hospital site — a single building that has to do two very different jobs without compromising either.]

[Continuation — the engineering brief. Two distinct occupancy profiles (residential + clinical) under one envelope. Different air quality and ventilation standards, different acoustic requirements, different security and access regimes, different operating hours. Prana's mechanical, electrical and public health strategies needed to honour both, cleanly separated.]

[Continuation — the constraints. Brownfield site, urban context, sustainability targets, NHS Healthcare Technical Memoranda alongside residential Part L and Part F. The director's job was to design through those constraints, not around them.]

Mixed-use elevation. [Replace with directors' images.]
/ Engineering

Two buildings,
one model.

[Directors to rewrite naturally. The full MEP package for both occupancies, coordinated in a single federated Revit model.]

M

Mechanical

[Heat pump / heat network strategy. Ventilation approach for split-occupancy. Notable technical decisions.]

E

Electrical

[LV distribution serving residential + clinical loads. Emergency lighting strategy. EV provision. Anything distinctive.]

P

Public Health

[HCW services, drainage strategy, separation of clinical and residential foul / waste streams. Notable details.]

S

Sustainability

[Compliance route — Part L, energy modelling, low-carbon strategy. Anything specific to the affordable-housing-above-NHS scheme.]

[Full-width hero image — drawing detail, render, or AI-enhanced site photo. Supplied by director on intake form.]
[Pull quote — optional. Something a client or contractor said, or a director's note on what made the project distinctive. If used, keep it short and specific to this project.]

/ Outcome

What
the client got.

[Directors to rewrite naturally. The handover position. Performance against the brief. Anything notable about how the building is operating.]

[Continuation — the client relationship. Whether Prana has worked with Southway / Bridgestone / Buttress before or since. Press coverage. Awards if any.]
